La Planificación de un Proyecto Informático es un proceso inicial o transversal en el desarrollo de un Sistema o producto software, que comprende la definición de un conjunto de actividades organizadas, que permiten lograr un producto deseado en el marco de una metodología de desarrollo de software particular. La planificación de un proyecto informático puede realizarse por medio de diferentes técnicas, que se enfocan en un aspecto particular y por ende se complementan de manera adecuada, logrando una estimación inicial del tiempo de desarrollo del producto, como la base de todas las demás actividades de ingeniería.
